ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell football team's Friday night lights battle against Harvard on October 11 will now be televised on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. from Schoellkopf Field. The contest will serve as the Big Red's second-ever appearance on ESPN2, after the pair of Ivy foes played on the deuce last season.
The Crimson, currently receiving votes in the national polls, and the Big Red will each play their second Ivy contest of the season in the matchup. Both teams open up conference action this weekend, Cornell against Yale and Harvard at Brown.
Cornell has played contests on an ESPN linear network in each of its past five seasons, three times against ranked opponents, but will be on one of the two primary ESPN channels for the second time since 1990 when it defeated Brown 34-7 on ESPN.
The Big Red is 3-6 all-time on the ESPN family of linear networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU). Cornell football's last win on national television came in a 29-28 thriller at Princeton on Oct. 28, 2017, on NBC Sports Network.
