ITHACA, N.Y. - The no. 6-ranked Cornell women's ice hockey team fell to the no. 5-ranked Colgate Raiders 4-2 on Saturday afternoon at Lynah Rink. The Big Red dropped to 11-4-3, while the Raiders 18-6-0.

Rory Guilday were credited with assists.

The battle was tight throughout the opening period of play from Lynah Rink. Although Cornell led in shots after the first, it was Colgate who started the scoring at the 16:22-minute mark.
As the second period came to a close, the Big Red and the Raiders were called for matching-minors. Cornell took advantage of the open ice when Jockims sneaked the puck past Colgate to even the score.
Casey Borgeil and Sara Stewart went back-to-back within the first 15 minutes of the third period to extend Colgate's lead to 3-1.
The Big Red pulled its goaltender as it chased an equalizer. During the 6-on-5 empty-net advantage Avar just barely snuck the puck under the top bar to take the Big Red's deficit to one. Moments later, Pais put the game on ice for the Raiders by netting an empty-netter.
