Fencing Claims Win Over NJIT, Narrow Losses to Pair of Top 5 Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Cornell fencing team went 1-2 on Tuesday afternoon at the Tiger Invitational at the Stan Sieja Fencing Room. The Big Red moved to 23-5 after a win over NJIT (20-7) and losses to No. 3 Columbia (17-10) and No. 4 Princeton (17-10).

Against the Lions toi start the day, the Big Red's sabre team earned a narrow 5-4 edge behind a pair of wins by Emma Brown and Erika Chin. It was Cornell's foil team that gave it a shot against the host Tigers, earning a 6-3 victory, while all three weapons came out ahead on the scoreboard against NJIT to close the day with a team victory.
