ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell men's swimming and diving team celebrated senior day as it defeated the Columbia Lions 178-121 on Saturday afternoon at Teagle Pool. The Big Red two Cornell records and seven pool records in the process of knocking off the Lions.

Pietro Ubertalli,
Sebastian Wolff,
Joseph Gurski, and
Josh Toothman began the day set a Big Red record (1:25.84) en route a victory in the 200 yard medley relay. Ubertalli registered a pool record in the 200 yard freestyle with his first-place time of 1:36.20. Ubertalli also clinched a pool reco
rd in the 200 yard backstroke, racing to a first-place time of 1:41.99.
Blake Conway topped the podium in the 100 yard backstroke by more than a full second (47.04 seconds).
Joseph Gurski set the second Big Red record of the afternoon in the 200 yard butterfly, earning a 1:42.24 first-place time.
Toothman earned first-place in the 50 yard freestyle (19.94 seconds), which was good for another pool record.
Julian Correa continued the trend of setting pool records, earning first-place with a time of 4:26.60 in the 500 yard freestyle. Gurski did more of the same as it relates to pool records, claiming the lead in the 100 yard butterfly (46.49 seconds).
Wolff won the 200 yard IM (1:46.99), followed by Gurski (2:48.96) who took second place. Ubertalli,

Jacques Grove, and
Dominic Edwards capped the evening with a victory in the 400 yard freestyle relay (2:56.38).
Next Up
The Cornell men's swimming and diving team will return to Teagle Pool tomorrow for two days of competition against the Yale Bulldogs. Diving will be held on Sunday, January 19, while the swimming events will take place on Monday, January 20.
