ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell men's soccer team defeated the Colgate Raiders 5-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Berman Field, marking the third game this season that Cornell has produced five or more goals. The Big Red improved to 8-2-1, while the Raiders dropped to 5-5-3 on the season.

Westin Carnevale,
Aidan Martin,
Sam Latona, and
Kasper Wollstein registered Big Red goals in the game.
Connor Miller,
Sergio Zapata, Schaban, and Latona were credited with assists in the contest.
Ryan Friedberg collected one save during the game, and maintained the shutout, notching his sixth of the season. Friedberg became the first person to reach the 20 career clean-sheet mark in program history.
The Big Red maintained control of the action throughout the first half, generating shots, but could not manage to make any count. After the opening frame, Cornell led in the shots category 11-2 (4-1 SOG).
"We did a very good job of generating opportunities to score tonight. The guys were fairly relentless in the second half a deservedly found the back of the net. It was great to see numerous players score tonight.",

In the 51st minute, Schaban netted Cornell's first goal in 10 days when he took advantage of a one-on-one match up in the box. Carnevale put away the corner pass from Miller on a header three minutes later to extend the Big Red's lead to 2-0. Martin registered the third goal in 10 minutes for Cornell, to give the Big Red a commanding 3-0 lead.
Following a slew of shots-on-net by Cornell, Latona made it count to push the lead to 4-0 in the 75th minute. Wollstein put away the final goal of the night moments later to seal a much-needed win for the Big Red at Berman Field.

The Cornell men's soccer team will travel to take on Ivy League foe University of Pennsylvania on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 4:00 p.m. at Rhodes Field. Game action will be broadcast on ESPN+.
