Men’s Polo to Face Texas A&M in UVa Fall Invitational Semifinal

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's polo team will face an early-season measuring stick this week when it travels to Charlottesville, Va., for the UVa Fall Invitational. The Big Red opens tournament play against Texas A&M on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Virginia Polo Center.

Cornell will meet either Virginia or Kentucky in its second contest on Saturday, Oct. 25. The consolation match is set for 12 p.m., with the championship scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Big Red enters the event on the heels of a 28-10 season-opening victory over Gardnertown on Oct. 17 at Oxley Equestrian Center. Senior Benito Jaramillo-Samper led the charge with 14 goals - outscoring Gardnertown single-handedly - while Max Sponer added seven, Malachi Light contributed five off the bench and Dylan Tung scored twice.

All games will be played at the Virginia Polo Center, with the full weekend schedule below:

Thursday, Oct. 23
4:30 p.m. - Virginia vs. Kentucky
6:30 p.m. - Texas A&M vs. Cornell

Saturday, Oct. 25
12 p.m. - Men's Consolation Game
2 p.m. - Men's Championship
4 p.m. - Trophy Ceremony at the Beh House
