ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell women's volleyball is home again this weekend as they look to continue their Ivy win streak vs. Brown and Yale. Big Red welcomes Brown to Newman Arena inside Bartels Hall on Friday at 7 p.m. before facing Yale on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Season So Far (8-5, 3-0 Ivy)
The Big Red is 8-5 so far this season and 3-0 in league match ups after accomplishing back to back to back, three-set-sweeps vs Columbia, Harvard and Dartmouth. Cornell is currently in the top of the Ivy League as the only undefeated team so far in early matches.
The squad is led in kills by senior outside and right side hitter, Eliza Konvicka (#14) with 174 so far this season and a .281 hitting percentage. Joining Konvicka in kill impact is sophomore outside hitter, Mackenzie Parsons (#20), with 117 kills and an impressive .453 hitting percentage on the season so far. With this stat, Parsons is currently sitting at 6th in the nation among D1 programs. As a team, Cornell is ranked no. 1 in the lvy league for kills with 672.
This high kill number doesn't come without clutch assists, leading the charge for Cornell assists is senior setter, Doga Ozalp (#7) with 230 total, averaging 5.35 per set and not far behind her is freshman setter, Mikayla Gray (#18) who is making an impact with an added 214 assists this season, averaging 4.98 per set.
Also as a team, Cornell is no. 1 in the league for total service aces, recording 96 so far in 48 sets played. Among the nation, Eliza Konvicka is ranked 16th in aces per set with 41 total.
On the defensive side of things, junior Libero, Sarita Pomar (#2) is defending the court with 181 digs this fall, averaging 3.77 per set. At the net hosting a block party for Big Red are junior, Ava Bogan (#16) with 48 and sophomore, Mackenzie Parsons with 47.

Brown enters the weekend 7-5 overall and 2-1 in Ivy League play, earning wins over Princeton and Penn while falling to Yale. The Bears primarily run a 5-1 system led by sophomore setter Julia Kakkis (#13), who has totaled 408 assists this season, averaging 9.49 per set.
Offensively, senior Mariia Sidorova (#11) paces Brown with 139 kills and a .178 hitting percentage, followed closely by sophomore Sophia Wolfson (#4), who's been a consistent presence at the net with 135 kills and an impressive .371 hitting clip. Defensively, senior libero Jessie Golden (#1) anchors the back row with 197 digs, while Wolfson also leads the Bears in blocks with 60.
Statistically, Brown ranks fifth in the Ivy League in hitting percentage (.221) and blocks (87), and sits sixth in total kills (546). The Bears and Big Red split their meetings last season, each team defending its home court. This weekend marks the 80th all-time game between the programs, with Cornell holding a 46-33 edge in the series.

Yale also stands at 2-1 in Ivy League competition after earning wins over Brown and Penn and falling to Princeton. The Bulldogs run a 5-1 offense orchestrated by sophomore setter Bethany Wu (#22), who has tallied 368 assists this season, averaging 9.68 per set.
First-year standout Ava Poinsett (#2) leads Yale in kills with 151 and a .241 hitting percentage, while junior right side Betsy Goodnow (#33) adds another 108 kills on a .237 clip. On defense, junior libero Arya Jue (#6) leads the team with 132 digs, and junior Laurece Abraham (#4) is the top blocker with 44 on the year.
In Ivy League rankings, Yale sits third in hitting percentage (.247), fifth in kills (559), and fourth in blocks (91). The Bulldogs split their regular season series with Cornell in 2024, with each team winning at home, before Yale defeated the Big Red in four sets during the Ivy League tournament. This weekend marks the 83rd meeting between the two programs, with Yale leading the all-time series 55-27.
