MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — The No. 7-ranked Cornell women's squash team swept No. 16 Middlbury 9-0 in its season opener Saturday afternoon at the Bostwick Family Squash Center.
Seven of the Big Red's nine victories came in three-game sweeps, highlighted by 3-0 victories in the first three positions by junior
Xin Ying Yee, senior
Alysa Ali, and freshman
Vicky Lai. Joining Lai in winning their collegiate debuts was
Lamees Shalaby (No. 8) and
Calla Yim (No. 9).
Sophomore
Sabine Ball (No. 4) and junior
Christa Kay (No. 5) each won their respective matches in four games, with both players dropping the second game.
