Â
Siena would go on a run of its own to recapture the lead 45-44 on a 3-pointer from Melious. After the Big Red regained the one-point lead on a Kaus layup, 46-45, the Saints would take it back one last time on a put-back layup with 20-seconds to play and go to the line for an and-1 opportunity.
Â
Following the missed free throw, and a timeout, Cornell would draw up the final play – inbounding the ball to Kaus down low who was immediately met by a pair of Siena defenders, but she would find a wide-open Langston for the go-ahead basket with 13-seconds left. Pape would make one of two at the line to give the game its 49-47 final.
