HANOVER, N.H. -- The Cornell men's tennis team capped its fall schedule with a strong showing at the Dartmouth Invitational #2 this past weekend at the Boss Tennis Center, highlighted by multiple singles victories and an unbeaten doubles performance.
Sophomore Rushil Khosla led the Big Red in singles play, earning a pair of straight-set wins. He defeated Dartmouth's Denny Bao 6-3, 7-5 before topping another Big Green opponent, Henry Ren, 6-3, 6-4, to close a perfect weekend.
Freshmen Jack Casciato and Nathan Gold also collected singles victories. Casciato opened with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Williams' William Luke, while Gold bounced back from an early setback to outlast Williams' Simon Volkema 6-7, 6-4, 11-9.
In doubles, Casciato and Gold proved steady, sweeping both of their matches. The Cornell duo defeated Boston University's Adrian Quiros and Payton Jim-On 6-4, then earned another 6-4 decision over Dartmouth's Malhar Patel and Calvin Wang.
The three-day tournament was the final fall tuneup for those players before spring dual meet season commences in January. Several Big Red players will compete at ITA championships this coming weekend.
