Cornell Women Deliver Early-Season Statement at Greg Page Relays

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell women's track and field team opened the 2025–26 indoor season with a powerful two-day performance at the Greg Page Relays, posting event wins across sprints, mid-distance, jumps, throws and multi-events inside Barton Hall. The Big Red hosted Syracuse, Toronto, Binghamton, SUNY Cortland, Ithaca College and Le Moyne.


DAY 1 — FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Junior Brianna Beckham kicked off her season with a strong outing in the 60m, finishing fifth in the final in 7.70 after posting 7.76 in prelims.

The mid-distance group shined in the mile, where junior Emma O'Day controlled the race from the gun and won convincingly in 5:09.69.

In field events, Cornell took control of the pole vault with a deep lineup. Avery Hilliard cleared 4.09m to win the event, followed by teammates Quincy Hansen, Lauren Cashman, Kelly Regan, and freshman Madeline Magliaro all finishing inside the top six.

Junior Anika Sukumar opened her year with runner-up honors in the long jump (5.59m) before returning Saturday for a strong triple jump result.

The multi-event squad swept the top four positions after five events. Senior Paula-Marie Brown earned the overall win with 3677 points, followed by Rikki Carver (3141), Sade Falese (3050) and Paula-Marie Brown's complete day including wins in the hurdles, high jump, shot put, and long jump set the tone for Cornell's depth across the board.

In the shot put, senior Nicole Loy launched 14.07m to win, with sophomores Claire Springer (13.41m) and freshman Lauren Smith (13.01m) giving the Big Red another 1–4 sweep.


DAY 2 — SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Cornell owned the 300m, sweeping the podium:

Francine Stevens — 39.24 (winner)
Natasha Redmond — 40.26 (2nd)
Justine Hounsell — 40.94 (5th overall but part of Cornell's strong group)

Freshman Eden Oje and first-years Elika Vahhaji and Divine Bamgboye also clocked promising times in their collegiate debuts.

The Big Red dominated the hurdles, highlighted by freshman Divine Bamgboye, who placed third in the final with an 8.49—an impressive early-season mark. Senior Jodi Parrott and freshman Arianna Allen also finished inside the top six.

Cornell earned a commanding win in the 4x400m relay, where Beckham, Redmond, Hounsell and Stevens combined for 3:51.58. The Red also placed third and fifth with their "B" and "C" squads.

In the 4x800m relay, Cornell claimed the top two spots:
• BCornell — 9:21.30 (winner)
• ACornell — 9:25.53 (runner-up)

Cornell swept the top three places in the triple jump, led by Elizabeth Graham at 11.91m, followed by Anika Sukumar and Sarah Caldwell.

Throwers added more podium finishes in the weight throw as junior Avery Hastings placed second with 17.25m, and senior Nicole Loy and sophomore Torie Jamieson also finished inside the top six.
