Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. --- Cornell women's tennis moved to 5-2 on the season and extended its winning streak to four as it defeated Siena 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.
The Big Red opened the match strong going 2-0 in the doubles play with the final match going unfinished.
Tanya Fan and
Alexandra Savu defeated Madeline DeFaber and Reegan Mullaney 6-0 and
Jenny Wong and
Victoria Zhao defeated Laia Giralt and Manuela Gomez 6-3.
With Cornell going up 1-0, singles play began. Cornell came out swinging taking the first five singles matches. Andrea Martinez defeated Mullaney 6-0, 6-0,
Michelle Ryndin defeated Giralt 6-1, 6-2, Savu defeated Zaara Omar 7-5, 6-1,
Seychelle Balog defeated Gomez 6-2, 7-6(6) and Zhao defeated Andrea Vargas 6-0, 7-6(0).
DeFarber was the lone point scorer for Siena as she defeated
Martina Marica in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
