ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell men's tennis is gearing up for its match against #22 Michigan State University at the Reis Tennis Center on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11:00 a.m. The Big Red comes into this match off of a 4-1 victory over Penn to earn third place at the ECAC Indoor Championship and are currently 7-3 on the season.

LAST TIME OUT: MEN'S TENNIS EARNS THIRD AT ECAC INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Cornell men's tennis earned third place at the ECAC Indoor Championships on Sunday as it defeated Penn 4-1 in the third place championship match. The Big Red improved its record to 7-3 with the win.
The match began with doubles play where the Big Red went 2-1. Radu Papoe and Nathan Mao defeated Parashar Bharadwaj and Tal Goodman in a tight battle 7-6(6) and Jack McCarthy and Adit Sinha defeated Manfredi Graziani and Shaurya Bhardwaj 7-5. Aaron Sandler and Sanjeev Chundu earned the lone doubles win for the Quakers as they defeated Rushil Khosla and Eric Verdes 6-3.
With Cornell ahead of Penn 1-0, singles play began. The Big Red went 3-1 in singles play with two matches going unfinished. McCarthy defeated Chundu 7-6, 6-4, Adit Sinha defeated Goodman 6-1, 6-3 and Nathan Mao defeated Justin Chung 6-3, 6-1.
S. Bharadwaj earned Penn its lone singles win defeating Rodrigo Fernandes 6-4, 6-1.

Michigan State University Notes
Sunday's match-up will be the seventh all-time meeting between Cornell and Michigan State University since they first met in 1991 where the Spartans defeated the Big Red 6-3. Michigan State earned the first three wins in the series and the Big Red are currently on a three-match winning streak. The last time these two teams faced off was on March 10, 2024 where #46 Cornell upset #16 Michigan 4-3. In singles play, returners Nathan Mao, Adit Sinha and Radu Papoe all earned wins for the Big Red. Cornell currently sits 1-0 against Michigan when playing at the Reis Tennis center. 
The Big Red will look to pull of its second consecutive upset of Michigan State on Sunday as they face off at the Reis Tennis Center at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23
