2/24/2025 10:00:00 AM

ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell men's hockey junior forward Dalton Bancroft has been named ECAC Hockey's Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.

Bancroft recorded a career-high four points in the Big Red's 6-0 victory over St. Lawrence on Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd at Lynah Rink during the program's Senior Night and final regular-season home game under Jay R. Bloom '77 Head Coach of Cornell Men's Hockey, Mike Schafer '86.

Three of Bancroft's four points came from goals, marking his second career hat trick with the Big Red. The three-goal game was Bancroft's first since accomplishing the feat against then-No. 6-ranked UConn on Nov. 26, 2022, in the Frozen Apple at Madison Square Garden, which also resulted in a 6-0 Cornell victory. Bancroft's three goals were the most scored by any ECAC Hockey player this past week.

The weekly honor is Bancroft's second Player of the Week honor from ECAC Hockey this season, as he was also recognized on Nov. 11.

As the regular season draws to a close this weekend, Bancroft's 13 goals are tied with sophomore forward Ryan Walsh for the team lead. Bancroft (13-7—20) also joins Walsh (13-11—24) as the only two Cornell players with 20-plus points.

Cornell returns to action this weekend when it travels to the Capital Region for matchups against Union (18-11-3, 11-7-2 ECAC Hockey) and RPI (12-18-2, 7-13-0 ECAC Hockey). Both games are set for 7 p.m. puck drops. Game action will be broadcast on ESPN+ and over the airwaves on WHCU (870 AM, 97.7 FM, cortacatoday.com).
