Cornell put the first run on the board in the top of the third inning on two hits. Addison Pressley singled up the middle followed by a double from Ella Harrod to move her around. Emma Harshberger grounded out at second but not before Pressley could score.

The Pirates responded quickly with a run of their own in the bottom of the third.

The seventh inning was a battle of the bats. Cornell got two hits in the top of the inning. Lauren Holt got on with a walk which caused a Seton Hall pitching change. Olivia Green came in to pinch run for Holt. Charlize Cai moved Green around the bases with a sacrifice bunt. Green stole third and then scored on a passed drop third strike for Maddie Ullensvang that resulted with her on first base. Susanna Pate then came to the plate to hit a double that scored Ullensvang and put the Big Red up 3-1 going into the last half inning.

Seton Hall got two base runners on with a hit and a walk before Kelsey Carr homered to center field to win the game for the Pirates 4-3.

Cornell 11, Hofstra 3

Hofstra used an early error to strike first at the bottom of the first inning. But Cornell responded immediately with two runs and one hit from Hailey Pirkey to put the Big Red on top 2-1.

Cornell added one more run in the third with an RBI single from Holt, scoring Harrod to extend the lead to 3-1.

Over the next two innings the Big Red out hit the Pride seven hits to one to extend the lead farther to 7-3. Harrod and Harshberger each had RBI hits in the fourth while Ullensvang and Sydney Stapf added two more RBIs in the fifth.
