ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell softball (8-6) gears up to host Yale for opening weekend of Ivy League play starting with a double-header Saturday at 12:30 at Niemand-Robison Softball Field.

SCOUTING YALE
Yale has started the season 13-12 with three wins over first Ivy foes Penn.
Lauren Perren is leading the offensive efforts with the highest batting average (.365), slugging percentage (.689), on base percentage (1.098) and hits (27).
Parren and Sophie Woodridge have each recorded team high five home runs over the 25 games.
The Yale pitching staff has recorded a 5.61 ERA with Emma Taylor at the helm. Taylor has recorded a 4.68 ERA over 58.1 innings pitched.
IVY STANDINGS
Yale currently sits at the top of the Ivy after defeating Penn in all three games of their Ivy opening series this past weekend.
The other six Ivys open conference play this weekend as Cornell plays Yale, Brown hosts Dartmouth, Penn travels to Columbia and Harvard faces Princeton.
Harvard has the best overall record of 11-4 through non-conference play, followed by Brown (12-6) and Cornell (8-6).
BIG RED AWARDS SO FAR
Cornell has grabbed two Ivy League weekly awards so far this season with Charlize Cai and Emma Harshberger being named Ivy Rookie of the Week on March 10 and Feb. 24.
Cai was 7 for 16 (.437) at the UMBC Invitational with her first career home run and a double in the books. She tallied nine RBIs, six runs scored and one stolen base. During the URI 3-2 win, Cai hit the go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to break a 2-2 tie. In the 4-3 win over Holy Cross, she scored the tying run in the bottom of the ninth. The freshman saw time at designated player (DP), center field and right field over the four games. The California native has appeared in 12 of the Big Red's 15 games where she has totaled 13 hits with three doubles. Cai currently leads the team in RBIs (14) slugging percentage (.576) and batting average (.394).
In Harshberger's first weekend of collegiate softball, she totaled eight hits over 14 at bats for a .571 avg and .786 slugging percentage. The freshman assisted the team with three RBIs alongside one home run. She also added 28 putouts over five games at first base with one double play.
STARTING UP STREAKS
Emma Antich currently holds the longest hitting streak for the Big Red with hits in four straight games. Maddie Ullensvang follows up behind her with a three-game streak. Addison Pressley has reached a base in seven of her last at bats with Emma right behind her with six.
