Women's Tennis Meets Rochester In Final Ivy Tuneup

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's tennis team will compete in its final tuneup before Ivy competition commences when it welcomes Rochester to the Reis Tennis Center on Sunday, March 23 at 12 p.m.

The Big Red brings an 8-3 record into the weekend after its 4-0 sweep at Howard on March 15 and have now won seven of their last eight matches. Head coach Katie Zordani's team will continue preparation for next week's start of Ivy competition when it faces Columbia at home. Sophomore Michelle Ryndin sports an 8-3 overall record with a majority of her action at No. 1 singles, where she's won five straight. Senior Jenny Wong is 6-3 while playing in the middle of the lineup and as high as No. 2. Six different singles players have five or more wins this season.

Division III Rochester is 5-3 on the season entering a Saturday home matchup with Allegheny, though two of the losses came to Division I opponents (Buffalo, Colgate). Josephine Libby is 9-4 on the season, including 5-3 at No. 1 singles, with the bottom three spots in the order going 15-9 on the year (.625). Head coach Matt Nielsen is in his 17th season coaching the men's and women's teams at Rochester.
