ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 8-ranked Cornell women's squash team travels to Philadelphia to participate in the 2025 College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships that begin Thursday morning at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center.
Cornell, who enters the Howe Cup bracket as the No. 8 seed, will battle No. 9-seeded Drexel at 11 a.m. Thursday. Match action will take place on courts No. 14-16.
The winner of Thursday morning's match will compete against top-seeded Trinity in the quarterfinals, while the loser will advance to the semifinals of the first consolation bracket. Both matches are set to occur at 11 a.m. on Friday. The quarterfinal matches will be played on Glass East courts No. 17 and 18, and the consolation semifinals will be held on courts No. 11-13.
LAST TIME OUT
Cornell will take to the court for its first match in nearly three weeks after the Big Red fell to No. 6-ranked Virginia, 7-2, in its regular-season finale at the Belkin Squash Courts on Feb. 15.
Sophomores
Xin Ying Yee and
Maya Voloshin recorded four-game victories for Cornell in the setback. Yee responded to dropping the first game, 11-2, to Meagan Best in the No. 1 match by winning three consecutive games: 11-6, 11-1, and 11-5, securing her team-leading 11th victory of the season. Voloshin triumphed in the No. 6 match, winning 11-6, 11-5, 8-11, 13-11, outlasting Maureen Foley in the fourth game to prevent a decisive fifth game.
Virginia posted three-game victories in the No. 4, No. 5, No. 7, and No. 8 matches.
Senior
Ananya Dabke won the first two games against Maria Min in the No. 3 match, 12-10, 11-8, but Min responded with three consecutive wins to take the match in five games, 11-2, 11-4, 11-6.
Junior
Aishwarya Khubchandani bounced back after losing the first two games to Lina Tammam, 11-5, 11-8, with victories of 11-6 and 11-5, but retired before the start of the fifth game.
Fellow junior
Devon Shatzman lost in four games in the No. 9 match to Claire Pellegrino, with scores of 10-12, 11-5, 11-5, 11-6.
SCOUTING DREXEL
Drexel enters Thursday's match with a 9-9 overall record as the Dragons snapped their three-match losing streak with a 7-2 victory over Columbia on Feb. 22.
Amirah Rosli and Eveli Mälik have won a team-leading 10 matches this season, posting identical 10-7 records. Claudia Adam (9-9), Lydia Robinson (8-8), Maddison Laine (8-4), Ariyan Irani (8-1), Ava Prokes (7-1), and Awande Malinga (6-4) have all registered at least .500 records this season.
LAST TIME AGAINST DREXEL
In the last meeting between the Big Red and the Dragons, Cornell won with a score of 6-3 on Jan. 15 at the Klein-Specter Squash Center in Philadelphia.

SERIES HISTORY WITH DREXEL
Cornell enters Thursday morning's match against Drexel with a 7-4 record versus the Dragons.
A victory on Thursday would mark the Big Red's third consecutive win over Drexel, signifying its longest winning streak against the Dragons since taking the first five matches between Nov. 23, 2013, and Jan. 31, 2018.
Thursday's match will be the first time Cornell and Drexel meet in the CSA National Team Championships.
