Ketkar Claims Bronze To Pace Big Red at NCAA Regionals

MEDFORD, Mass. -- Junior epee fencer Ketki Ketkar won a bronze medal as the Cornell fencing team placed four in the top 12 of their weapons at the 2025 NCAA Northeast Regionals on Sunday at Tufts University. 

Ketkar was 8-3 in the final round robin to take third in epee behind only Tierna Oxenreider of Columbia (NCAA silver medalist in 2024) and Yasmine Khamis of Harvard. She was 17-6 overall on the day to take her second regional medal and a certain qualification for the national championships. Elaine Hong (29th) and Emma Ni (32nd) both finished in the top half among the top half in the 65 fencer field. Nora Weber was 36th overall.

Both Marsee and Neibart advanced to the top 12 pool in sabre, with Marsee going 4-7 in the round robin to close the day for ninth place. She posted a 12-11 record on the day overall. Neibart was 12-15 on the day, including 3-8 in the final pool. Emma Brown finished 17th, while Isabella Carvalho was 25th among the 53 fencers with the weapon.

Renata Chusid claimed 11th overall with the foil after reaching the final 12 on Sunday. Teammates Mia Jo (14th) and Brianna Lee (19th) both finished in the top 20, while Rei Hosono was 29th overall in the region among the 52 fencers.

NCAA qualifiers will be officially announced on Tuesday, March 11. The championships will be held beginning on Saturday, March 22 at Penn State's Multi-Sport Facility. The Saturday finals will be broadcast on ESPN+.
