LEWISBURG, Pa. – Cornell Women's Track and Field set new records and earn five top-five finishes at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell on Saturday and Sunday.
Avery Hilliard delivered a sensational performance in the pole vault, clearing a personal-best 4.21m, a mark that not only earned her first place, but also set a new school record and facility record.
In the field events, Avery Hastings launched a huge 55.21m throw to place second. Meanwhile, in the jumps, Johanna Stuard secured a second-place finish in the high jump with a jump of 1.58m and Anika Sukumar leaped 12.04 meters in the triple jump, earning a fifth-place finish in a competitive field.
On the track, Mairead Clas competed in the 1500m, crossing the line in 4:25.37 to take second place. In the 3000m steeplechase, Tenley Nelson battled to a 10th-place finish with a time of 10:56.79.
Audrey Hubbell placed 10th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.44, closely followed by Aniyah Walters, who finished 12th in 14.65. Glen Parker also represented Cornell in the 100m, running 12.13 to finish 11th.
In the throws, Claire Springer competed in the shot put, earning 13th place with a best mark of 13.11m. Wrapping up the meet on the track, the 4x100-meter relay team of Sade Falese, Skyy Johnson, Brianna Beckham, and Rikki Carver sprinted to an eighth-place finish with a time of 48.33.
