ITHACA, N.Y. –Cornell softball (13-14, 4-8 IVY) fell to Princeton (17-13, 11-1 IVY) 8-0 in the final game of the conference series on Monday at Niemand-Robison Softball Field.
The Big Red experience their first series sweep in the Ivy League with three losses to Princeton.
The Tigers jumped on the board early with two runs in the top of the first and two more in the second to start with a 4-0 edge over Cornell.
Maxine McCraw would enter the game in the second inning to pitch the majority of the game only allowing two runs and striking out two batters.
Cornell gained base runners in the third inning with a single from Maddie Ullensvang and a double by Sydney Stapf but were unable to bring in the runs.
Princeton poured on the rest of their runs in the seventh with the Big Red unable to respond losing the final game 8-0 to the Ivy leading Princeton Tigers.
GAME NOTES
- Maddie Ullensvang led the team in batting average (.500), slugging percentage (.667) and on base percentage (.625) over the three-game series.
- Through 8.2 innings, Maxine McCraw held a 2.42 ERA with only five walks.
- This is only the third time Cornell has been shut out this season, the first two coming from Ohio State and #25 Virginia.
- After Monday's games, Cornell's all-time record against Princeton moved to 49-39.

The midweek double header against Ithaca College has been canceled so the Big Red will hit the field one more time at home next weekend against Penn. The first game of the series is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. All games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
