CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cornell men's track and field team competed at the Cortland Classic on Friday and Saturday and earned multiple new personal records among top five finishes.
Jacob Pantoya led the 800m finishing first in 1:54.27. Teammate Tyler Patterson followed close behind, securing third with a personal best time of 1:57.01 for the mid-distance events.
All three hurdlers for Cornell posted personal-best times in their distance. Teddy Rauchway flew to first in the 110m hurdles in 14.75. Then in the 400m hurdles, Jeff Yang also grabbed a first-place finish in 53.06 with Jack Daly not far behind, claiming second in 53.82.
In the field, Ryan Antwi leapt his way to third in the long jump with a personal-best 6.96m mark.
Gabriel Ball finished second overall in the decathlon with 5,349 points, setting personal best in seven of the 10 events. His best event came in the high jump, where he cleared 1.92m for first place.
The throwing events also saw strong placements. Noah Harmon took third in the shot put with a mark of 15.88m, followed by Nicholas Frattina in fourth (14.82m) and Mannie Arbabi in fifth (14.14m). Arbabi also shined in the discus with a new personal best, taking second with a throw of 46.89m, while Daniel Mikay placed fourth in the same event at 45.02m.
Rounding out the sprint events, Neil Chowdhury delivered personal best 400m, finishing fifth with a time of 49.06 while setting personal best in the 200m (21.98) as well.
