ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's tennis team put up a strong fight against the Ivy League champions in its final match of the season, but the Crimson overcame an early deficit to claim a 4-2 victory on Sunday afternoon at Reis Tennis Center. Cornell closed the season 13-8 (2-5 Ivy), while the Crimson will advance to the NCAA Tournament after posting a perfect 7-0 conference mark (15-8 overall).
Cornell claimed the doubles point to get the home team off on the right foot, earning 6-2 victories at the first and third spot on the ladder. At No. 3,
Alexandra Savu and
Emma Baker closed out Ivy play with a perfect 6-0 mark and cruised to a victory, with
Michelle Ryndin and
Sage Loudon finishing off a win at the top spot to earn a 1-0 lead.
The Crimson opened up singles play with three consecutive victories before
Jenny Wong struck at No. 4 with a 7-6(3), 6-2 victory over Kate Kim to narrow the deficit to 3-2. Harvard closed out its perfect conference season with a three-set victory at No. 6.

Katie Zordani, the Big Red increased its win total by five and doubled its win total in Ancient Eight competition while registering the program's first winning record since earning a share of the 2016-17 Ivy League title (15-6).
