NEW YORK, N.Y. –Cornell softball (16-19, 6-12 IVY) falls 10-2 to Columbia (20-16, 12-6 IVY) in the final game of the series on the road.
Lauren Holt and Ella Harrod started the game off at the top of the first with two singles for the Big Red.
The Lions would turn around with two hits in the first as well resulting in a run to take an early lead. They would hold the Big Red in the second then add six more runs through the middle innings to extend the lead to 7-0.
Charlize Cai started a rally in the fifth inning with a double to left center followed by a walk from Susanna Pate to put runners on first and second. Holt slapped her second hit of the day over the left fielder for a two RBI double to keep the game alive.
Columbia would end the game in the bottom of the fifth with two runs to take the game 10-2 in five innings.
