ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell University football players Samuel Musungu and Ryder Kurtz have been selected to the 2025 FCS Football Central Preseason All-American Teams, as announced Thursday.

Musungu, a rising junior wide receiver from Andover, Minn., earned second-team honors, while Kurtz, a rising junior tight end from Stamford, Conn., was named to the third team.

Musungu, who received Preseason All-America honors from Stats Perform earlier this month, led the Big Red in receiving yards (960), receptions (83) and touchdown catches (10) during the 2024 season. The receiver averaged 96.0 receiving yards per game and 11.57 yards per catch. Musungu ranked top-10 nationally in receiving yards per game and receptions per game (8.3).

Kurtz finished the 2024 campaign with 36 receptions for 441 yards and four touchdowns in nine games. The tight end averaged 49.0 receiving yards per game and 12.25 yards per reception, serving as a key target in Cornell's passing attack.

Both players were instrumental in Cornell's offensive production which ranked third in scoring, total yards, and receiving in the Ivy League a season ago.

Cornell opens the 2025 season under head coach Dan Swanstrom, who enters his second year leading the program on Saturday, Sep. 21 when it travels to Albany, N.Y., to take on the Great Danes of UAlbany.

The 2025 FCS Football Central Preseason All-American Team features 113 players representing all 13 FCS conferences and 51 schools. Cornell joins an elite group of programs with multiple honorees on the preseason teams.
