Big Red Posts .379 Attack Percentage in 3–1 Win Over Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Cornell closed its weekend at the Buffalo Classic on a high note Sunday afternoon, defeating host University at Buffalo in four sets (25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 25-13) at Alumni Arena.

Senior outside hitter Eliza Konvicka once again led the Big Red with 20 kills on a .375 hitting percentage, adding two aces and five digs to pace the offense. Cornell hit a season-best .379 as a team, finishing with 61 kills to Buffalo's 49.

Cornell controlled the first two sets with steady attacking and timely defense, but Buffalo rallied in the third behind 15 kills and a .313 hitting mark to extend the match. The Big Red answered emphatically in the fourth, hitting .571 with 17 kills and just one error to secure the win.

Setter Doga Ozalp directed the offense with 23 assists, while Mikayla Gray added 21 helpers and five digs. Junior middle blocker Ava Bogan was a force at the net, tallying 10 kills on .500 hitting along with a block. Senior middle Mackenzie Parsons anchored the defense with seven blocks and seven kills, while libero Haley Clark chipped in 13 digs and two aces.

Cornell also held the edge at the net, out-blocking Buffalo 10-6 and out-digging the Bulls 46-43.

With the victory, Cornell improved to 4-3 overall, while Buffalo fell to 3-4.

The Big Red return to the court next weekend at the Rice Invitational II at Rice University.
