Preseason Poll
Cornell finished fourth in the Ivy Preseason Poll. Yale tops the list with 121 points and 9 first-place votes with Princeton following up with 119 points and 7 first-place votes. Coming in third is Brown (88), and Cornell (79) at fourth place, a bump up from last year.
Scouting UAlbany
UAlbany opened their season at the Rocket Invitational where they faced Saint Francis, Toledo and Robert Morris. The Great Danes are 2-1 on the season after falling to Toledo 0-3 and beating both Saint Francis and Robert Morris in three set sweeps. Graduate Students, Shynelle Woroniuk and Kendall Harris, both notched 24 kills on the weekend. The team averaged 11.6 kills per set and 12.1 digs per set.
Scouting Syracuse
Syracuse opened their season at the Salt City Classic where they matched up against Niagara, Rider and Le Moyne. Syracuse went 3-0 at the tournament beating both Niagara and Le Moyne in three sets and beating Rider in four. Senior Gabriella McLaughlin led the team with 42 kills and Junior Tehya Maeva led in assists with 72. The team averaged 13.8 kills per set and 16.1 digs per set.
Scouting Canisius
The Griffins opened their season at the YSU Invitational presented by Mercy Health where they went against Duquesne, Mercyhurst and Youngstown State. They went 1-2 over the weekend, beating Mercyhurst in 5 sets and losing to Duquesne and Youngstown State in 3 sets. Senior Bella Mosquera led the team in kills with 31 on the weekend. The Griffins averaged 14.2 digs per set and marked the weekend with 17 aces.
