Big Red Falls to Orange in Five-Set Thriller

ALBANY, N.Y. — Cornell women's volleyball battled through a five-set thriller in its second match of the UAlbany Invitational, but ultimately fell to Syracuse, 3–2 (25–18, 27–25, 15–25, 17–25, 11–15).

The Big Red came out strong, claiming the opening two sets behind steady defense and timely kills. Cornell edged out the Orange in a tight second set, 27–25, to take a 2–0 lead in the match.

Syracuse responded with momentum of its own, taking the next two sets to even the contest. In a decisive fifth set, the Orange pulled ahead late to secure the win.

Cornell returns to the court this afternoon to close out tournament play against Canisius at 3 p.m.
