ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell men's swimming and diving team earned a 143–99 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday at Teagle Pool. The Big Red scored consistently throughout the meet, finishing first in both relay events and posting several individual victories. Cornell built its advantage early and maintained it through the final events.
Cornell opened the meet with a win in the 400-yard medley relay, as the A relay of
Gabe Anagnoson,
Haihan Xu,
Daniel Simoes, and
Jacques Grove touched first in 3:14.98, with the B relay finishing second in 3:19.27. Grove followed with a win in the 200 freestyle (1:39.54), while
Julian Correa won the 400 IM in 3:54.49.
Josh Toothman added a victory in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.80.
Daniel Simoes won the 100 IM in 50.39,
Pietro Ubertalli won the 200 backstroke in 1:44.13, and
Haihan Xu captured first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:59.46. Cornell closed the meet with a win in the 200 freestyle relay, as the relay group of
Daniel Simoes,
Gabe Anagnoson,
Jacques Grove, and
Soren Koschmann finished first in 1:21.59.

Next Up
The Cornell men's swimming and diving team will return to action next weekend when it travels to compete against Yale at Kiphuth Exhibition Pool. The dive meet is slated for Friday, January 16th at 4:00 p.m., and is set to conclude with the swim meet on Saturday, January 17th at 11:00 a.m.
