ITHACA, N.Y. — Fans who have cheered on Cornell men's ice hockey from the stands will get a chance to join the team on the ice when the Big Red hosts Skate with the Big Red on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Lynah Rink.

The free, family-friendly afternoon gives fans the chance to spend time with Casey Jones '90, the Jay R. Bloom '77 Head Coach of Cornell Men's Ice Hockey, and his players before skating on the same ice where the Big Red competes.

Fans should arrive between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m. to meet Jones and the players, collect autographs and take photos. Skating will begin at approximately 4:45 p.m. and last about an hour. Fans are encouraged to bring their own skates. A limited number of adult skate rentals will be available for $2 (cash only), but no children's sizes will be offered.

For young hockey fans, the event is an opportunity to meet the student-athletes they look up to. For longtime supporters and first-time visitors alike, it's a chance to connect with the team and one another in a relaxed setting.

Fans planning to attend are asked to RSVP here to help the program estimate attendance. One response per household or group is requested.
