ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell women's hockey alumna Rory Guilday '25 has been named to the U.S. roster for the 2026 IIHF Women's World Championship, which runs Nov. 6-16 in Herning and Esbjerg, Denmark.

Guilday, a defender from Chanhassen, Minn., now plays for PWHL San Jose. She will wear No. 6 for Team USA and make her fourth appearance at the Women's World Championship. She won gold in 2023 and silver in 2022 and 2024.

The 2026 tournament is the first in the event's history to be played in November. It was previously held in the spring.

Team USA enters as the defending champion. The Americans went 6-1-0-0 in 2025 and beat Canada 4-3 in overtime in the gold medal game. The U.S. has reached the gold medal game in all 24 Women's World Championships and has won seven of the last 10 titles.

The U.S. is the top seed in Group A with Czechia, Switzerland, Germany and Austria, and will play its preliminary-round games in Esbjerg. It opens against Switzerland on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. local time (1 p.m. ET). Games will be broadcast on NHL Network.

Guilday's selection comes months after she won Olympic gold with the United States at the 2026 Winter Games. She was drafted fifth overall by the Ottawa Charge in the 2025 PWHL Draft and played for the club in 2025-26 before joining San Jose.

At Cornell, Guilday was a two-year team captain and a three-time All-Ivy League selection, including first-team honors in each of her final two seasons. She was named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year in 2021-22, when she was also named to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team and the USCHO All-Rookie Team. She earned Third Team All-ECAC Hockey honors in 2024-25, when the Big Red won their fifth ECAC Hockey title and reached the Frozen Four. Cornell Athletics named her the Charles H. Moore Outstanding Varsity Athlete in 2025.

Guilday is also a member of the 2020 gold medal-winning U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team.
