Men's Tennis Heads To Princeton For ECAC Indoor Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's tennis team will kick off the 2026 ECAC Indoor Championships as the No. 4 overall seed and will face No. 5 seed Columbia in the first round on Friday, Feb. 13 at 12 p.m. at the Si Qin Family Indoor Tennis Center.

With a win on Friday, the Big Red would meet the winner of the Columbia-Brown match on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 3 p.m., with the consolation round happening at 9 a.m. Sunday's final stage will begin at 9 a.m. with matches going through the championship round at 3 p.m.

Cornell is 4-1 on the season with road wins over Louisville and Purdue, home sweeps of Buffalo and St. John's at home. Cornell dominated the Red Storm from start to finish in handing the 2025 NCAA Tournament team is first loss of the season.

Sophomore Rodrgio Fernandes is 13-5 on the season from the top spot, with Felipe Pinzon a perfect 5-0 in dual match competition in the top half of the lineup. The doubles tandem of Rushil Khosla and Senthil Kumar Rethin Pranav is 9-1 on the season and a perfect 3-0 at No. 2 doubles, while the NCAA qualifying pair of Pinzon and Teodorovic is off to an 8-1 start. Head coach Silviu Tanasiou sports a 190-107 career record (.640) entering the weekend.

Yale is 6-1 on the year and has won six straight entering the weekend, including wins over Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Purdue. Interim head coach Eduardo Ugalde is led at the top by No. 48 Vignesh Gogineni and the 14th-ranked doubles team of Gogineni and Edward Liao.
