CANTON, N.Y. - The no. 11-ranked Cornell women's ice hockey team defeated the St. Lawrence Saints 4-3 in overtime on Friday night at Appleton Arena. The Big Red improved to 17-10-2, while the Saints fell to 11-19-3.
Following Ivy League results on Friday night, Cornell earned it's third straight and 18th overall Ivy League Title in program history.
Riley Scorgie,
Alyssa Regalado,
Mckenna Van Gelder, and
Grace Dwyer scored goals for the Big Red.
Beatrice Perron-Roy,
Nora Curtis,
Georgia Schiff, and
Delaney Fleming (two) were credited with assists in the game.
Annelies Bergmann collected 32 saves for the Big Red, and earned her 17th victory of the season.
Scorgie started a three-goal burst by the Big Red at the 8:36-mark, netting the first goal of her career to give the Big Red a 1-0 lead. Regalado extended Cornell's lead to 2-0 when she crashed the net and poked the puck past Lawrence. Van Gelder made it 3-0 less than one minute later, giving the Big Red an early commanding lead.

Alexa Davis fed the puck to Kennedy Wilson who found the back of the net immediately to chip away at the Cornell lead.
After as scoreless second frame, the Saints pulled Lawrence out of the net in search for two goals as the game approached it's end. With 2:43 remaining in the third, Alexia Cote found the back of the net with the extra-attacker to breathe life into the Saints. One minute later, the puck found its way back to Cote who found pay-dirt again on the extra-attacker advantage to tie the game at 3-3 and send the contest to overtime.
Dwyer got in on a breakaway and flipped the puck past Lawrence to secure the 4-3 overtime victory for Cornell.

The Cornell women's ice hockey team will return to the ice tomorrow against the Clarkson Golden Knights to close out the regular season. Puck drop between the Big Red and the Golden Knights is slated for 3:00 p.m. at Cheel Arena. Game action will be broadcast on ESPN+.
