Equestrian Begins Spring Slate with Second Home Show

ITHACA, N.Y. - Cornell equestrian, following a two-month hiatus, will resume its 2025-26 season with Cornell Show II on Feb. 15.
 
The Big Red compiled a strong fall campaign, earning three High Point Team titles and two Reserve High Point Team finishes through six shows. Cornell captured High Point Team honors at RIT Show II in October, Cornell Show I in November and Nazareth Show II in November. The Big Red also finished as Reserve High Point Team at RIT Show I, Alfred Show I and competed at Nazareth Show I.
 
Emerson Cassidy emerged as one of Cornell's top performers in the fall, earning High Point Rider honors at Nazareth Show II with first place finishes in both limit flat and intermediate fences. Jianna Simcik was named High Point Rider at Cornell Show I and has qualified for regionals along with Clara Beck, Janice Shen, Halle Avartin, Uma Comfort, Evelyn Gurvich and Alexa Carey.
 
Riley Gerardo has been a consistent force in open competition with five first place finishes, while Erin Morera earned High Point Rider honors at RIT Show II and has posted five first place finishes across open fences and intermediate flat. In introductory competition, Janice Shen and Alexa Carey have combined for nine first place finishes through the fall.
