| By:
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's tennis team will kick off the 2026 ECAC Indoor Championships as the No. 6 overall seed and will face Columbia in the first round on Friday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Meadows Racquet and Recreation Fieldhouse.

With a win on Friday, the Big Red would meet the winner of the Penn-Dartmouth match on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m., with the consolation round happening at 11 a.m. Sunday's final stage will begin at 8 a.m. with matches going through the championship round at 3 p.m.

The Big Red is 2-1 on the season and riding a two-game win streak following home wins over Western New York foes St. Bonaventure (7-0) and Niagara (6-1) this past weekend at Reis Tennis Center. Five different singles players and a pair of doubles teams went 2-0 over the weekend in the victories.

Interim Carl H. Meinig '31 Head Coach of Women's Tennis Spencer Furman returns a balanced lineup that gained valuable experience during a competitive fall season, highlighted by strong individual performances at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships and Ivy League Conference Masters events.

Both sophomore Sage Loudon and junior Michelle Ryndin have played in the top spot in the lineup with junior Victoria Zhao, sophomore Andrea Martinez de los Rios and freshman Dylan Gelber also mainstays in the lineup. Martina Marica, Emma Baker and Tanya Fan have also earned time in dual matches so far this spring.

The Lions are off to a 2-1 start this spring, including a 5-2 victory over Purdue this past weekend. Columbia leads the all-time series 25-22 and have won three straight, including a 4-0 sweep last season in Ithaca.
