Big Red Close Season on High Note, Five Score in Double Figures in 78-53 Senior Day Win

ITHACA, N.Y. — Clarke Jackson poured in 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting along with 11 rebounds off the bench, and four teammates joined her in double figures Saturday afternoon at Newman Arena as Cornell closed its season on Senior Day with a 78-53 victory over Dartmouth.

Jackson led a balanced attack that saw Audrey Chen add 12, Emily Pape with 11 and Rachel Kaus and Paige Engels each chip in 10. The Big Red shot 55 percent from the field and outscored Dartmouth in every quarter, building a 35-24 halftime lead and never looking back.

Chen was at her best in the third quarter, draining four 3-pointers and finishing 4-for-4 from beyond the arc on the afternoon. Her back-to-back triples at the 9:13 and 8:21 marks pushed the lead to 15, and she added two more in the frame to help Cornell outscore Dartmouth 21-17 in the period and take a 56-41 advantage into the fourth.

The Big Red bench was the story of the afternoon, outscoring Dartmouth's reserves 40-15. Engels finished with 10 points and six assists, while Kelsey Langston dished out six assists of her own to help Cornell generate 25 team assists on 33 made field goals.

Cornell's defense held Dartmouth to 35.8 percent shooting and forced 16 turnovers, converting them into 15 points. Alexandra Eldredge led the Bears with 12 points.

Seniors Emily Pape and Vivienne Knee were honored before the game on Senior Day, with Pape finishing with 11 points and eight rebounds and Knee grabbing seven rebounds off the bench in their final home appearances. Cornell closes its season at 9-18 overall and 4-10 in Ivy League play.
