HANOVER, N.H. — Trailing 7-6 late into the third, No. 6 Cornell used a six-goal run bridging the final minutes of the third and the first five of the fourth to pull away from Dartmouth and claim a 15-9 Ivy League victory Saturday at Scully-Fahey Field, improving the Big Red to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Cornell had built a 6-4 halftime lead only to watch Dartmouth score three-straight to start the second half, including two by Alex Jessely, to flip the scoreboard. Jessey finished with three goals and two assists.
The decisive swing began at 2:38 of the third when freshman
Rowyn Nurry tied the game at seven, and Cornell never trailed again, running off six straight goals through sophomore
Jack Herendeen's tally at 10:25 of the fourth to push the margin to 12-7. Dartmouth would break up the Cornell run with a pair of goals, before the Big Red ended the game the same way it started, with two-straight goals.
Junior
Ryan Goldstein was the game's dominant offensive force, finishing with five goals and one assist, totaling six points on the afternoon, and moving into 10th place all-time with 176 career points. Nurry added three goals including two in the final period, while junior
Willem Firth contributed three goals and one assist, Herendeen scored twice, and senior
Jack Cascadden scored once and added an assist, part of a dominant afternoon at the faceoff X that saw him win 19 of 23 draws and collect 15 ground balls.
Matthew Tully made 13 saves in the win, and Cornell held Dartmouth scoreless in the fourth quarter. The Big Red extend their win streak over the Big Green to 14 consecutive games and remain unbeaten at Scully-Fahey Field all-time.

• Cornell improves to 59-15 all-time against Dartmouth, winning each of the last 14 meetings and last 13 in Hanover.
• The Big Red finished the game with 22 draw control wins, tied for 14th-most in a single game.
• Cascadden's 15 ground balls is tied for 3rd most in a single game, while his career total of 295 ground balls is four shy of Paul Schimoler '89 for 2nd in program history.
