CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Cornell women's tennis team closed the 2025-26 season on a high note with a 4-2 victory over No. 69 Harvard on Sunday at the Beren Tennis Center. The Big Red earned its first Ivy League win of the season, finishing 8-12 overall (1-6 Ivy) under interim head coach Spencer Furman, while the Crimson fell to 12-10 (2-5 Ivy). The win also snapped Harvard's 10-match streak in the series.
Cornell secured the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3. Michelle Ryndin and Sage Loudon earned a 6-3 victory at the top spot, while Dylan Gelber and Martina Marica followed with a 6-4 win at No. 3 to give the Big Red the early advantage.
In singles, Cornell picked up three victories to clinch the match. Loudon extended the lead with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2, and Victoria Zhao added a straight-set victory at No. 3. After Harvard responded with wins at Nos. 4 and 5, Marica sealed the team victory with a 7-6, 6-4 triumph at No. 6.
The top singles match between Ryndin and Kavya Karra was left unfinished with Ryndin holding the advantage when play was halted.
