SPRINGFIELD, N.J. — Cornell men's golf carded a second-round 313 (+25) Saturday at the Ivy League Championship, improving on its opening-round score by three strokes while remaining seventh in the seven-team field through 36 holes at Baltusrol Golf Club's Lower Course. The Big Red sits at 629 (+53) heading into Sunday's final round.
Tyler Debusschere provided the brightest spot for Cornell, bouncing back from a difficult opening round to shoot a 73 (+1), the best score posted by a Big Red golfer through two rounds of the championship. The junior moved up 11 spots in the individual standings to tie for 21st at +11.
Weston Warden continued to lead Cornell in the overall standings, sitting tied for 14th at +9 after a second-round 77 (+5).
Adithya Venkataraghavan shot an 82 (+10) to sit tied for 31st at +20, while
Shep Davis carded an 81 (+9) to move to tied for 33rd at +22.
TJ Betlow posted an 84 (+12) in Round 2 to sit tied for 28th at +16.
Princeton leads the team standings at 589 (+13), with Harvard one stroke back at 590 (+14). Reed Greyserman of Princeton and Barry Zhang of Harvard share the individual lead at 143 (-1).
Cornell concludes the championship Sunday with the final round at Baltusrol Golf Club.
