PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Cornell Big Red closed out competition at the Penn Relays on Saturday with a pair of events, highlighted by a top-10 finish in the men's shot put.

Senior Peter Northrup placed ninth in the College Men's Shot Put Championship with a mark of 17.44m, leading the Big Red on the men's side.

On the women's side, the 4x800-meter relay team of Ava Pennachio, Riley Ebersole, Henny Schminke and Angelina George finished 11th in 9:10.77.

The two events capped a solid showing for Cornell across the three-day meet at Franklin Field.

Cornell now turns its attention to the final stretch of the outdoor season, with one regular-season meet remaining before the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. The Big Red will travel to Princeton for the Larry Ellis Invitational, scheduled for May 1–3.
