ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell Big Red men's track and field senior Ryder King was named Ivy League Co-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced, following his performance at the Penn Relays.
King turned in a standout effort in the championship section of the 400-meter hurdles, placing fourth in a personal-best time of 50.72 seconds. The mark moves him to No. 2 all-time in Cornell program history and currently ranks No. 2 in the Ivy League this season.
"Ryder has put together an outstanding season so far," said Adrian Durant, The George Heekin '29 Head Coach of Men's Track and Field. "He's now No. 2 all-time at Cornell in the 400-meter hurdles and currently ranks No. 1 in Canada in both the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles. More importantly, he is competing with consistency, confidence and maturity. This recognition is well deserved, and I expect even bigger performances from him in the weeks ahead."
King looks to continue his momentous senior season this weekend at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational.
