Program-Record Six Cornellians Selected in 2026 PWHL Draft

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell women's ice hockey program had six former players selected in the 2026 PWHL Draft, marking the program's highest total since the league's inception in 2023.

"I am very proud of our six alums getting drafted tonight into the PWHL. I am very excited for them. They have worked hard for this opportunity and deserve this recognition. I cannot wait to watch them next year in the PWHL!", Doug Derraugh '91 , the Everett Family Head Coach of Women's Ice Hockey mentioned.

2026 PWHL Draft Picks

Grace Dwyer '26 (D) - selected 10th overall to the Boston Fleet
A cornerstone of Cornell's blue line, Dwyer appeared in 134 career games and totaled 76 points on 18 goals and 58 assists. The team captain earned First Team All-Ivy honors twice, was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team as a freshman, and helped anchor one of the nation's top defensive units during her senior season.

Avi Adam '26 (F) - selected 24th overall to the Montreal Victoire
Adam finished her Cornell career as one of the program's most complete forwards, recording 83 points on 39 goals and 44 assists in 128 games. A two-time Ivy League honorable mention and Third Team All-ECAC Hockey selection, she led the Big Red in scoring in each of her final two seasons while providing strong defensive play and faceoff ability.

Mckenna Van Gelder '26 (F) - selected 52nd overall to PWHL San Jose
Van Gelder was a consistent offensive contributor throughout her four seasons at Cornell, tallying 86 points on 44 goals and 42 assists in 134 career games. She finished her career with more than 600 faceoff wins while combining scoring production with strong two-way play and shot-blocking ability.

Ashley Messier '25 (D) - selected 61st overall to the Seattle Torrent
Messier developed into one of the ECAC's top defenders, totaling 51 points on 14 goals and 37 assists across 108 career games. A Second Team All-ECAC Hockey and Second Team All-Ivy selection, she was known for her physical presence and defensive reliability, leading Cornell in blocked shots in two seasons.

Georgia Schiff '26 (F) - selected 63rd overall to PWHL Detroit
Schiff emerged as one of Cornell's top offensive threats during her four-year career, totaling 61 points on 28 goals and 33 assists in 126 games. A Second Team All-Ivy selection as a senior, she tied for the team lead in goals with 12 and delivered several memorable postseason performances, including a double-overtime playoff game-winner against Clarkson as a freshman.

Alyssa Regalado '26 (D) - selected 68th overall to the Toronto Screptures
Regalado was a steady presence on Cornell's blue line throughout her career, recording 64 points on 16 goals and 48 assists in 134 games. A three-time All-Ivy selection, including First Team honors as a freshman, she combined offensive production with strong defensive play and etched her name into Cornell postseason history with the game-winning goal in the 2025 NCAA Regional Final that sent the Big Red to the Frozen Four.
