ITHACA, N.Y. -- Four members of the Cornell sailing team were recognized among the nation's elite as the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) announced its 2025-26 All-America teams. Senior skippers Sophia Devling and Winborne Majette were named Women's All-Americans, while sophomore skipper Gilda Dondona and senior crew Sophia Mulvania earned honorable mention recognition.
Devling earned All-America honors for the second consecutive season after receiving honorable mention recognition a year ago. The MAISA Sailor of the Year and a first-team All-MAISA women's skipper, Devling helped guide Cornell to conference championships in both women's team racing and women's fleet racing. She skippered A division as the Big Red placed second at the MAISA Women's Fall Dinghy Championship and competed at the ICSA Women's Team Racing National Championship. Sailing in a team-best 17 regattas, Devling was also named to the Academic All-Ivy League team. She joined freshman crew Anna Iacobucci in the B division rotation at the ICSA Women's Fleet Race Championship, helping Cornell qualify third in the 18-team semifinal field before securing a fifth-place finish nationally.
Majette also collected her second career All-America honor after earning honorable mention recognition in 2024-25. A first-team All-MAISA women's skipper in 2026, she skippered A division as Cornell captured the MAISA Women's Fleet Race Championship and was part of the rotation that led the Big Red to a perfect 16-0 record and the MAISA Women's Team Race Championship. Majette and senior crew Maya Conway helped Cornell qualify for nationals with a third-place finish at the ICSA Women's Fleet Race Western Semifinals before leading the A division effort at nationals, where the Big Red climbed to fifth place. She also skippered A division alongside freshman Grace Penque at the ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship after helping Cornell qualify for the finals for the first time in program history.
Dondona's honorable mention selection follows a historic sophomore campaign that included the program's first individual national championship. She captured the ICSA Singlehanded National Championship and successfully defended her MAISA Faye Bennett Singlehanded conference championship title. A first-team All-MAISA women's skipper and MAISA Sailor of the Year finalist, Dondona helped Cornell win the MAISA Women's Team Race Championship and qualify for the ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship, where she and Mulvania helped the Big Red place fifth nationally. The pair also guided Cornell to its first-ever berth in the ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship finals and contributed to the program's best-ever finish in the event.
Mulvania became a three-time All-American after previously earning first-team honors in 2025 and honorable mention recognition in 2024. A first-team All-MAISA crew selection and second-team All-Ivy honoree, Mulvania was a key contributor to Cornell's conference championship efforts throughout the season. She competed at the ICSA Women's Team Racing National Championship and teamed with Dondona to help the Big Red qualify third at the ICSA Women's Fleet Race semifinals before placing fifth nationally. Mulvania also helped Cornell secure its first appearance in the ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship finals and contributed to the program's record-setting finish at nationals.
The four selections cap one of the most successful seasons in program history, highlighted by a MAISA Women's Team Race Championship, a MAISA Women's Fleet Race Championship, a fifth-place finish at the ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship, and the program's first-ever appearance in the ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship finals. The four All-Americans were one short of a single-season school record after five were honored last spring.
