ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men's basketball team will welcome seven newcomers for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign. The five freshmen and two transfers will help Cornell in its quest for the program's first Ivy League title since 2009-10. 

Biographies for each of the incoming players are below:

Carson Davis
Forward • Freshman • 6-8 • 230 • Pomeroy, Ohio (Meigs HS)
Three-time first-team all-state, all-district and all-conference selection at Meigs HS ... named Conference Player of the Year and District Player of the Year in both his junior and senior seasons ... averaged 24 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists per game as a senior ... recorded 13 games with 30 or more points in his final season ... named Hardwood Heroes Player of the Year in 2026 ... participated in the Ohio vs. Kentucky All-Star Game and the Ohio North-South All-Star Game ... earned Academic All-Ohio honors ... became the school's all-time leading scorer, tallying over 1,500 career points along with more than 700 rebounds and 200 3-pointers made ... was a three-sport athlete who also excelled on the baseball diamond, going 15-2 as a pitcher and earning all-district honors while helping his team to back-to-back district and conference championships in 2023 and 2024.
 
Quinn Gibson
Forward • Freshman • 6-5 • 210 • Cherry Hill, N.J. (Cherry Hill West HS/The Winchendon School)
Earned first-team all-NEPSAC honors in his prep year at The Winchendon School ... honorable mention all-state as a senior at Cherry Hill West HS where he was a three-time first-team all-conference and two-time all-South Jersey selection ... two-year captain ... averaged 21.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game as a junior and 21.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game as a senior ... closed his four-year varsity career with 1,281 points despite missing a majority of his senior season.
 
Luke Kennevan
Guard • Sophomore • 6-3 • 190 • Shamong, N.J. (Camden Catholic HS/Lock Haven)
Averaged 10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game as a freshman at Lock Haven, shooting .498 from the field and .397 percent from 3-point range while starting all 29 games ... scored a season-high 23 points against East Stroudsburg ... posted season highs of 10 rebounds against Holy Family and six assists against both Penn State-Scranton and Millersville … earned South Jersey Player of the Year honors as a senior at Camden Catholic HS .... averaged 16.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game his final season, leading his school to an appearance in the state championship game … recorded a triple double in the sectional championship against the No. 1 team in the state … ended his career with 1,694 points, averaging 14.7 points over his four varsity seasons … also had more than 700 rebounds, 350 assists and 85 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
 
Sage Mateo
Guard • Freshman • 6-3 • 205 • New York, N.Y. (The Hun School)
Played prep basketball at The Hun School of Princeton after starting his high school career at Avenues: The World School in New York City ... was a two-year captain at Hun and surpassed 1,000 career points ... earned all-MAPL league and all-prep area honors as a senior ... was a two-time scholar-athlete award recipient and also received the coaches award ... served as a varsity captain as a freshman at Avenues, averaging 14 points per game and earning all-ACIS league honors ... played club basketball for the New York Renaissance in the EYBL, qualifying for Peach Jam at both the 15u and 17u levels.
 
JJ Sanchez
Guard • Sophomore • 6-5 • 200 • San Diego, Calif. (Montgomery HS/Citrus College)
Started 31 of 32 games as a freshman on a 30-2 Citrus College squad that reached the 3C2A State Championship Final Four ... averaged 12.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game while shooting .509 from the field and .409 from 3-point range ... made 54 3-pointers on the season ... ranked eighth in the conference in steals ... earned honorable mention all-conference honors … played prep basketball at Montgomery HS in San Diego, helping his team capture the San Diego Open championship ... fourth-team all-state selection as a senior by MaxPreps after averaging 18.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.2 steals per game … named San Diego section Player of the Year … two-time All-CIF first team selection … the school's all-time leading scorer recorded more than 2,300 points, 700 rebounds, 600 assists and 350 steals  in his four-year varsity career … posted career shooting splits of 52-44-81.
 
Mikehi Williams

Was a three-time state champion at St. Anne-Pacelli HS ... named Georgia Class 4A State Player of the Year in 2026 ... earned two-time first-team all-state and all-region honors ... named Chattahoochee Valley Player of the Year as a senior captain ... earned MVP honors at the Albany State All-Star Game ... selected to the GIAA All-Star Game … averaged 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game as a senior … posted 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per outing as a junior.
 
Trey Williams
Guard • Freshman • 6-2 • 190 • Lake Forest, Ill. (Loyola Academy)
Earned first-team all-conference and second-team all-state honors as a senior at Loyola Academy ... also received second-team all-conference and honorable mention all-state recognition as a junior ... was a two-year varsity captain ... named MVP of the New Trier/Loyola Thanksgiving Tournament as a senior ... earned first-team honors at the Christmas Tournament in both his junior and senior seasons ... set the single-season assists record and finished as the most winningest player in program history.
