ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell-Syracuse men's basketball series returns to the schedule for the 2026-27 season as the Big Red will visit the Orange on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at the JMA Wireless Dome. Game time and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

The two programs did not meet during the 2025-26 season. It will be the 130th all-time matchup between the programs on the hardwood, with the Orange holding a commanding 98-31 edge in the series. Syracuse has won 44 consecutive matchups against the Big Red, a streak dating back to Cornell's last win in the series on Dec. 4, 1968.

Both programs are led by alums, as Cornell's Jon Jaques '10 will square off against a Syracuse team under the leadership of new head coach Gerry McNamara.

In the teams' last meeting on Nov. 27, 2024, Syracuse used a decided edge in the paint to pull out an 82-72 victory over the Big Red at the JMA Wireless Dome. Guy Ragland Jr. scored 17 points to lead four double-figure scorers for Cornell, with Cooper Noard and Nazir Williams adding 16 points apiece. Donnie Freeman posted a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Orange, while Elijah Moore hit all five of the team's 3-pointers en route to 17 points. Syracuse held a 40-24 edge in points in the paint and a 48-35 rebounding advantage in the win.
