Junior Season - 2007-08
Davenport earned a spot in the regular rotation on the blue line for the Big Red as a junior, appearing in 24 of 36 games on the year. He scored his third career goal in Cornell's 7-1 victory over Rensselaer on Feb. 16, and added a pair of assists in games against Yale (Nov. 9) and Massachusetts-Lowell (Dec. 28). His assist against Yale was on Colin Greening's empty-net game-winner in the final minute of play. He also showed an ability to stay on the ice, picking up just 10 minutes in penalties on the season. His +7 rating was also good for the second best among Cornell defensemen as a junior, behind only Brendon Nash's +10. He also showed his versatility, playing several games as a winger when pressed into service due to injuries in the forward corps.
Sophomore Season - 2006-07
Davenport established himself as a mainstay on the Cornell blue line as a sophomore, appearing in the first 27 contests before having his season cut short by an injury. He posted a pair of goals and a pair of assists, doubling his previous career high in points for a season. He scored the game's first goal in the victory over Harvard on Nov. 10, and later tallied the game-winning goal in the victory over Union on Dec. 2.
Freshman Season - 2005-06
Davenport struggled with injuries as a freshman, limiting him to just 10 appearances on the season. When called upon in his first season, Davenport played well, finishing the season with two assists and a +3 rating. His best game of the season came against Northeastern in the Florida College Classic on Dec. 27, when he recorded an assist and a +2 rating. Unfortunately, after the contest the following night against Minnesota-Duluth, Davenport would play just twice more the remainder of the season, seeing ice time in both ends of the Rensselaer and Union weekend.
Before Cornell
Davenport was a three-time SCHL all-star and was named the league's best defenseman. He was also named an AMHL all-star and the UFA Bisons best defenseman.
Personal
Taylor Robert Davenport is the son of Greg and Barb Davenport and has an older sister and younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
