Biography
Senior Season - 2009-10
Zorn served as team captain during the Big Red's run to the national title game, ranking second among all seniors on the roster in scoring. She was also a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Defensive Forward of the Year award and was the team's Player of the Year award recipient. Zorn also claimed the athletic department's Ronald P. Lynch Senior Spirit Award. She had a trio of multi-point games on the season, scoring a goal and an assist against Brown on Dec. 5 and doing the same on Feb. 6 against Princeton. Zorn then helped to lift the Big Red into the championship game of the ECAC Hockey tournament with a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the league semifinals against Rensselaer. She scored three of her 16 points on the year during the postseason.
Junior Season - 2008-09
Zorn finished the year with 14 points on seven goals and seven assists while appearing in 29 games. She had a pair of multi-point games on the season, opening the year with two goals against Vermont on Oct. 24. She later had a goal and an assist on Nov. 7 against Princeton. Zorn proved to be a dangerous threat on the power play, as five of her
seven goals on the year came with the man advantage. She also tallied a short-handed goal on Dec. 5 in a 3-2 win against Clarkson, with that goal serving as the game-winner.
Sophomore Season - 2007-08
Playing in 29 games, Zorn ranked second on the team in goals with 13 and fourth in points with 24. She had four multi-point games, including recording four points in Cornell’s 4-3 win against Quinnipiac on Nov. 30. Zorn also posted three points in two contests. From Nov. 10 through Dec. 1, Zorn scored a goal in five consecutive games while totaling 12 points. She netted two goals, including the game-winner, against Princeton on Nov. 16. In Cornell’s second game against the Tigers on Dec. 1, Zorn had a hand in all three goals in a 3-2 victory, scoring a goal and adding two assists.
Freshman Season - 2006-07
Zorn played in 27 games for the Big Red during her rookie season, picking up one point on an assist on Dec. 1 against Rensselaer.
Prior to Cornell
Zorn served as captain for the Rochester Edge AA hockey team her last four seasons. In 2005, she played in 64 games, compiling 58 goals and 78 assists for 136 points. She was a member of the Western Ice Hockey Team for three years at the Empire State Games, helping her team to first place in 2005. At Churchville-Chili, she lettered in softball and soccer, earning first-team All-Greater Rochester honors in soccer and being named team captain in both sports.
Personal
Elizabeth Marie Zorn is the daughter of Chris and Kate Daly. She has two younger brothers and two sisters. Her brother, Scott, plays soccer at the University of Rochester. Zorn is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
