2010-11
Jaklitsch was named first-team All-Ivy in both singles and doubles following a senior season in which he helped Cornell to its first-ever Ivy League title and NCAA tournament appearance. Jaklitsch went 4-3 in the conference playing predominately at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, while going 16-7 overall in the spring regular season. As part of doubles team with Evan Bernstein, the tandem went a perfect 7-0 against Ivy opponents at No. 1 doubles. The pair posted a 16-7 mark overall during the spring regular season playing at both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Against Louisville in the NCAA tournament, the pair was trailing 7-6 when the Cardinals clinched the doubles point. Jaklitsch had been named second-team All-Ivy as a sophomore and junior. During his junior season, Jaklitsch played at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spot and went 5-2 in the conference and an impressive 17-6 during the spring dual match season. As a sophomore, he would hold the top spot for the Big Red in 17 of the team’s 19 matches, where he posted an impressive 9-8 record at No. 1 singles and went 11-8 overall.
2009-10
Jaklitsch earned his second-straight second-team All-Ivy selection during his junior season. Playing at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spot, he went 5-2 in the conference and an impressive 17-6 during the spring dual match season.
2008- 09
Jaklistch started the season as the Big Red No. 2 singles player. After losing his first set 1-6 in the first match against Penn State, he stepped up his game to win the match. The win was so impressive that Jaklistch was given a shot at No. 1 singles the following match against Binghamton. He would hold the top spot for the Big Red in 17 of the team’s 19 matches, where he posted an impressive 9-8 record at No. 1 singles and went 11-8 overall. His play in the Ivy League earned him a second-team All-Ivy selection. Jaklitsch also had some impressive wins in the fall, including reaching the finals of the A flight at the Cornell Invitational and the semifinals of the Columbia Invitational.
2007-08
Jaklitsch opened his singles spring season on a six-match winstreak that saw him defeat opponents from Niagara, Buffalo, Penn State, Michigan State, Western Michigan and Fairleigh Dickinson. He posted a 12-9 overall dual singles mark and helped the Big Red notch a 4-3 win over Princeton with a victory at the No. 4 position. Jaklitsch also picked up Ancient Eight wins over Yale and Harvard. An impact player for the Big Red since stepping onto the court, Jaklitsch won B singles at the Cornell Fall Outdoor Invite and then fought to the quarterfinals of the Farnsworth Invitational, beating top-ranked foes from Columbia and Princeton. He also won B doubles at both the Cornell Fall Outdoor Invite with Andy Gauthier and at the Farnsworth Invite with Rory Heggie.
At Islip HS
A singles finalist at the 2007 New York state high school tennis championships, Jaklitsch graduated from Islip HS. He was ranked No. 3 in the East and No. 23 nationally.
Personal
Jonathan Michael Jaklitsch is the son of Thomas and Laura Jaklitsch and has a younger brother. He is enrolled in Cornell’s College of Arts and Sciences.
