At Cornell
Ballou served as one of the team’s top reserves at defensive end in 2008 after missing the entire 2007 campaign. He saw action in seven contests, registering nine total tackles with 1.5 sacks. Ballou had a career-high three tackles and a sack in the win over Bucknell. He also forced a fumble in the victory. He impressed the coaching staff with his play on the junior varsity as one of the team’s top playmakers. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

At Choate
A captain of the football team at both Choate Rosemary Hall as a postgraduate player and at Amity Regional HS, Ballou was an all-NEPSAC pick at Choate as a senior. Ballou helped his prep school to a 6-2 record. Ballou also captained the men’s ice hockey team at Amity. He was a two-year letter winner as a quarterback in high school before moving over to outside linebacker and tight end at Choate.
