At Cornell
One of the top deep threats at receiver in the Ivy League, Blackman returns for a fifth year and will join Bryan Walters as one of the top tandems in the Ancient Eight. He possesses tremendous physical gifts, with outstanding size, speed and athletic ability, and is also a fiery competitor. Blackman caught 20 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown in 2008, and his 14.6 yards per catch average placed him second on the team. Blackman’s best performance coming against Lehigh, when he hauled in four passes for 65 yards, including a season-long 43-yard reception. Blackman also recorded two special teams tackles. In 2007, Blackman registered 21 catches for 194 yards and a touchdown, averaging 9.2 yards per catch. He saw action in all 10 contests with eight starts, catching at least three passes in four different games and hauling in at least one pass in all 10 games. Blackman had four catches for 51 yards in a win over Colgate and made three catches for 25 yards and his first career touchdown in the overtime win over Brown. Blackman missed the 2006 season with a variety of injuries, but flashed the potential to be an impact wide receiver with his performances on the scout team as a freshman in 2005. He saw action in six contests as a reserve and on special teams in 2005. Blackman is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.

At Albany
Blackman had 19 catches for 378 yards and two touchdowns as a senior wide receiver at Albany HS to rank among the top 20 receivers in the section. A Section II All-Star, Blackman was first-team all-area while serving as team co-captain. He had five games with at least 50 yards receiving and hauled in a two-point conversion. Blackman also lettered as captain of the track team.

Personal
Horatio Walton Blackman is the son of Albert and Jennifer Blackman and has an older brother and sister. His brother, the late Balewa Blackman, was a 1996 Cornell grad, while his sister, Loneke, is a 2008 Cornell grad.
